It’s raining (but not pouring!)
Delegates and visitors enjoyed a wet walk into Rosehill Gardens today – and one of the smiliest faces in the rain belonged to General Church Council member Peter Zweck, who presented his first report to Synod this morning.
‘The first question you ask a farmer is always, “How much rain did you get?” Well, I can report that I got 23 millimetres. My spirits are now on the up and my stress levels are down!’
Peter farms at Henty, New South Wales. He reported similar rainfall totals at Albury and border areas, about 15 millimetres around Wagga Wagga and Temora, falling to about five millimetres in the Central West (Dubbo, Parkes and Forbes region). ‘But every bit helps!’ Peter said.
Synod will continue to pray for rain across Australia, while the full offering on Sunday morning will be directed to drought relief through the LCA Disaster & Welfare Fund.
